Deskripsi
Steam drum adalah antarmuka utama antara air dan uap.Di pembangkit listrik tenaga batu bara, air umpan boiler melewati economizer dan masuk ke drum tempat steam terpisah dari air umpan dan dialirkan ke superheater.Mempertahankan level cairan yang konstan di bagian atas steam drum diperlukan untuk menyediakan kualitas uap.Instrumentasi harus tahan terhadap suhu dan tekanan tinggi.
Detail pemisahan uap air
Pemisahan air-uap primer menghilangkan hampir semua uap dari air sehingga sangat sedikit uap yang disirkulasi ulang dari dasar drum menuju tabung yang dipanaskan melalui koneksi outlet (downcomer).
Pada pemisahan sekunder, uap dilewatkan melalui tahap sekunder pemisah atau elemen scrubber (biasanya pelat paralel bergelombang berjarak dekat) untuk menghilangkan tetesan air akhir.Steam kemudian dibuang melalui berbagai port.
