Reheater dan superheater adalah satu set tabung yang terletak di dalam boiler.Steam dari dinding air dialirkan ke superheater di mana ia dipanaskan di atas suhu jenuhnya sampai suhu operasi maksimum yang dibutuhkan tercapai.Steam superheated kemudian dialirkan melalui pipa steam utama menuju turbin bertekanan tinggi.Uap buang dari turbin tekanan tinggi diarahkan ke boiler untuk pemanasan ulang dan dari sana ke turbin tekanan menengah dan rendah.Temperatur pemanasan ulang yang tinggi meningkatkan output dan efisiensi pembangkit listrik.
Fungsi
Reheater pada dasarnya adalah superheater yang memanaskan uap yang keluar dari tahap tekanan tinggi turbin.Uap yang dipanaskan kembali kemudian dikirim ke tahap turbin bertekanan rendah.Dengan memanaskan kembali uap antara turbin bertekanan tinggi dan bertekanan rendah, efisiensi kelistrikan dari siklus pembangkit listrik dapat ditingkatkan melebihi 40%. Siklus pemanasan ulang digunakan pada ketel uap besar karena secara ekonomis hanya dapat dilakukan pada pembangkit listrik yang lebih besar.
