Steam jenuh drum dipisahkan dari campuran steam-water yang dikeluarkan dari riser pada ruang steamnya dan pada peralatan pemisah yang dipasang di dalamnya. Steam drum juga merupakan wadah penyimpan air yang menampung perubahan ketinggian air selama pergantian beban dan air internal. pengolahan; oleh karena itu ukuran steam drum harus cukup besar untuk menampung peralatan pemisah dan menampung jumlah air yang dibutuhkan.
Fungsi
• Pemisahan steam jenuh dari campuran steam-air yang dihasilkan oleh tabung evaporasi.
• Mencampur air umpan dari economiser dan air yang dipisahkan dari campuran uap-air, dan disirkulasikan kembali melalui tabung evaporasi.
• Melakukan blow down untuk mereduksi konsentrasi padatan terlarut air boiler.
• Pengolahan Air Boiler dengan bahan kimia.
